A woman's voice
The Finnish parliament approved the new rules of election legislation on June 1, 1906. Finland, still a part of the Russian Empire, got the world's most modern parliament. Universal and equal suffrage was true. Woman's voice jewelry series celebrated the hundred-year history of the pioneers of equality and has established itself as a beloved classic of modern Finnish jewelry design. Woman's voice speaks of an individual's courage. Courageous voices together can change the world.
The meaningful topic inspired Kirsti Doukas to combine light, splashing elements into a strong structure. "The abstract subject, universal and equal voting rights, took the form of a piece of jewelry, in the shape and splashing elements of which you can see a bouquet of flowers, the fluttering of a dandelion, or even fireworks."
Vanamo
Twinflower, Linnaea borealis, is a beautiful flower of a lush spruce forest. The slender plant rides on the soft moss and raises one flower stalk after another from its stem.
Twinflower is a shy beauty of the Finnish forest. Eino Leino's (1878 - 1926) beloved poem Nocturne breathes the timeless message of a Finnish summer night: The scent of Twinflower and the shadows of the water, from them I make the song of my heart.
